MATERIALISM AND IGNORANCE - by jrqc

There are wonderful traits and lessons we can learn from other people, but, of course, there are also negative qualities we should avoid. By embracing virtues, we can strive for personal growth and achieve much more in life. On the other hand, certain traits hinder our mental evolution. In this text, we will address two of these negative factors: materialism and ignorance, as well as ways to counteract their dominance.

MATERIALISM

Being a slave to material possessions and attaching a sense of approval and validation from external sources reflects the shallowness of a person. This unidimensional pursuit often seen in individuals who lack depth and substance. They may be driven by consumerism to fill a void or pretend to be something they are not. Unfortunately, this constant pursuit of external approval stifles their true essence, leading to a fleeting sense of reality and leaving them feeling empty.

It is important to have material possessions, but minimalism suggests keeping them to a practical minimum. Items that are unused for a long time should be discarded or given to those who need them.

IGNORANCE

Having a degree or education does not necessarily equate to intelligence. True intelligence and knowledge come from studying, practicing, experiencing the world, analyzing information, and reflecting on personal growth. Learning from others and engaging in meaningful conversations can help us improve our skills and personality traits.

There is no shame in admitting ignorance about a specific subject. Instead of saying something uninformed, it is better to listen and learn from those who possess knowledge in that area. Avoiding banal topics, gossip, and stupidity in conversations can lead to more meaningful interactions and personal growth.

In conclusion, avoiding negative behaviors is crucial for understanding ourselves better. Acknowledging our flaws allows us to seek improvement through self-examination, knowledge, experience, and practice. While we are imperfect, this should not limit us from striving for positivity, learning from others, acquiring new skills, and avoiding anything that hinders our journey towards personal growth.

LOVE'S ROMANTIC DEATH - NARRATIVE / SHORT STORY BY JRQC

For Martin, the simple act of getting up was a powerful force that translated into the sensation of morning freshness, as if his existence depended on it. And it was not in vain. He embodied one of those characters capable of making the mind and body flutter, a whirlwind infused with passion for everything representing beauty. When his eyes directly met yours, you felt exposed, as if an eternal flame shone in his honey-colored eyes. He seldom directed his gaze towards people while speaking, but when he did, you felt at his mercy, as if his eyes penetrated the walls of your soul and heart, leaving you exposed. However, I don't complain, as under the shelter of his aura and words, I felt the comforting warmth of that fiery gaze. His gaze intoxicated me, his words bathed me. Yes, that's Martin. That's him, the one I fell in love with. For him, life was a feast offering delicious delicacies and pleasures which he indulged in without distinction or regret. His strength pulled me...

REBELLION - by jrqc

"...countless times you mentioned your disbelief of achieving anything, yet here you are, immersed in colors with your wings spread wide!- oh, how relieved I am, for this merciless world of ours can make ashes those who dream of a better self..." "It has indeed been a challenging journey, I must confess, but one that was worthwhile. If I hadn't learned how to navigate and overcome the obstacles I encountered, the outcome would have been significantly different. Certainly there were moments when I sank in sorrow and my strength deserted both my heart and limbs, and it was during those times that I found the knowledge and the courage to persevere because of HIM., We are not granted any knowledge at the moment of our birth, for I believe we learn more both through His gracious mercy and our own mundane ways.." "I assume it wasn't an easy task to perform. Standing tall often requires facing defeat and acquiring humility. Qualities which are certainly hard t...

THAT EVENING - by jrqc

You once said that we are entangled to death since the moment we are born, that we are chained to this earthly prison and that there is nothing we can possibly do about it, that all joy sinks countless times and that lovers will always mourn their dead love swallowed by neverending grief. It seems somehow that sadness in all its complexity lingers within, it extends it branches all over without distinction, with no regrets for who the victim is. Some branches seem to be so rooted that it makes the heart break, it makes it bleed tears to the point that you can barely function. Yes, I do still remember that evening when you said that and I noticed your face sinking, your spirit broken. However, you wouldn't divulge the reason of your torment. Your beautiful darkened eyes were bloodshot and you observed me, intently, your eyebrows would frown at times and your stare would grow deeper as if trying to snatch my soul. You stood close to me, I could feel your cold breath, I could feel you...
